Qualification
- All international students who completed their secondary or tertiary education
Application Procedure
Visa-free
- Nationals of countries where visa-free entry is permitted for 90 days
- A D-4, language training, visa is necessary in order to extend your stay after you entered Korea
- Contact the Immigration Office for inquires regarding visas, change of status, or visa availability

Short-term visa (C-3-1)
- Visit a local Korean embassy or consulate to obtain a visa. Valid for 90 days from the date it had been issued!
- No visas are issued just by getting a study permit from the Immigration Office. An admission certificate or a admission letter from the school is fine
- Obtaining no other visas than the D-4-1 visa for extending your stay in Korea after you entered the country
- For inquires, feel free to contact the Immigration Office
- Tourism (C-3-2, C-3-9) visas cannot be changed to D-4 or D-4-1

- All students must be enrolled in school for at least six months in order to get this visa
- Stay period can be extended to a maximum of two years
- After the first six months, you can extend the validity period for either three or six months

Depending on the country, it takes about more than a month from receiving the application documents to obtaining a visa

- Final education certificate: the diploma/degree with apostille or the original copy of the consular certification of the Korean diplomatic mission of the diploma/degree

- A copy of Health insurance for foreigner students (If you do not have one, sign up in Korea)
- If you stay for more than 6 months after your first entry, you are automatically enrolled in National Health Insurance.
- Original bank statement of over USD 10,000- It should prove the balance will stay there for 12 months such as an installment savings.
- Only the applicant's or parents' bank balance certificate can be submitted (siblings' relatives' balance certificates are not accepted)
- When submitting a certificate of bank balance under the name of the parents other than students, the certificate of family relations such as the Certificate of Birth must be submitted.

Insurance & Alien Registration
Insurance
- Language trainees are obligated to sign up for National Health Insurance 6 months after entering to Korea.
- Private insurance must be enrolled for the period that you don't have the National Health Insurance
- If you buy insurance in your home country
- Must be written in English
- Insurance period must be specified (subscribing at least 1 year from the date of entry)
- Coverage: Medical expenses, treatment expenses, prescription preparation expenses, hospitalization expenses, etc. must be specified
- When applying for domestic international student insurance
- Insurance period is 1 year (can be canceled if you subscribe to National Health Insurance in the future)
- You must sign up before entering Korea and ask the person in charge.

Applying alone
- Those who want to quickly issue an alien registration card for personal reasons
- Direct visit to the Seoul Immigration Office (Mok-dong) under the jurisdiction of Konkuk University
- Fingerprint registration is possible when you apply for the ARC

Eligibility
- Those who have obtained a language training visa and are within 2 years of entering the country
- Those with a short-term visa who wish to obtain a language training visa (depending on whether or not it can be changed in Korea by country)

- It takes about 3 weeks to return the ARC(Alien Registration Card) after visa extension in group.
- Students planning to return home countries are encouraged to keep the above period in mind.
